- Perform engineering management and coordinate with AFLCMC organizations and external agencies (facilities, security, IT, foreign disclosure/travel, PA, test orgs, building managers) to ensure uninterrupted daily operations.
- Support acquisition, development, and sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and support equipment across programs.
- Provide technical assistance to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) with emphasis on Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E).
- Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Requests for Variance (RFVs), and maintain accurate system configuration baselines.
- Participate in technology insertion activities, Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), and technical and programmatic reviews.
- Conduct and support failure analyses and develop cost-effective solutions to improve reliability, maintainability, and availability.
- Support full weapon system lifecycle activities including analysis of alternatives, investment strategies, design, manufacturing, sustainment, and end-of-life processes.
- Apply DoD, Air Force, and standard engineering principles to improve manufacturing, operations, re-manufacture, demilitarization, and oversight activities.
- Translate user and operational needs into validated system and subsystem requirements and support requirements and technology development.
- Develop, review, and analyze system architectures, design baselines, interoperability requirements, proposals, specifications, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
- Support IPTs, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), design reviews, audits, In-Process Reviews (IPRs), and other technical meetings.
- Assist in system design reviews, mission analysis, developmental planning, and definition of missions and operating conditions.
- Analyze regulatory, policy-driven, and design changes for feasibility, compatibility, configuration integrity, and technical impact.
- Develop and evaluate Integrated Master Plans (IMP), Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Systems Engineering Detail Schedules (SEDS), and engineering cost estimates.
- Support systems integration activities for acquisition, development, verification, and validation of systems and equipment.
- Conduct engineering performance, cost, lifecycle, maintainability, supportability, reliability, risk, and schedule trade studies.
- Interface with all levels of management, support engineering boards and committees, and help resolve technical issues and implement decisions.
- Evaluate and analyze program data items and documentation including specifications, drawings, plans, reports, SOWs, and life-cycle cost estimates.
- Prepare, review, and assess key engineering, safety, programmatic, risk, test, and acquisition documents; support briefings and program status reporting.
- Provide test and evaluation technical support, including planning, execution, analysis, reporting, documentation review, system software testing, and compliance with performance and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications: Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:
- MA/MS Degree with 10 years of directly related experience or BA/BS with 12 years of directly related
experience or 15 years of directly related experience to this discipline. - Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the Secret level.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project).
- Must be able to perform all functional duties independently.
- Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
