Job Overview

Material Handler isresponsible for the efficient and safe movement of materials and products within a warehouse and factory. They handle tasks like receiving, storing, retrieving, and shipping materials, often using equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.Key duties include maintaining inventory records, ensuring proper labeling and storage, and assisting with packaging and shipping.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Receiving and Unpacking:Receiving shipments, verifying accuracy, and unpacking materials.
  • Storing and Retrieving:Storing materials in designated locations and retrieving them as needed.
  • Operating Equipment:Utilizing forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Inventory Management:Maintaining accurate inventory records, tracking locations, and reporting shortages.
  • Labeling and Packaging:Properly labeling and packaging materials for storage and shipment.
  • Shipping and Loading:Loading and unloading vehicles and preparing materials for shipment.
  • Safety and Maintenance:Ensuring a safe working environment, following safety protocols, and performing routine equipment maintenance.
  • Documentation:Recording material movements and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent:A high school diploma or equivalent is generally required.
  • Basic Computer Skills:Ability to use computer systems and software for inventory management.
  • Attention to Detail:Accuracy and carefulness are essential for ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Physical Abilities:Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs or more, depending on the specific job requirements.
  • Experience:Some roles may require prior warehouse experience or experience with cycle counting.

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $24.00. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
