Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor - Security - Full Time - Security - Variable Shifts.
In this role, the successful candidate Performs security, safety, fire prevention, loss investigations, and Hazardous Materials duties (as per OSHA regulations).
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct periodic inspections of officers to ensure they are in proper uniform, post locations are clean and orderly, memo books are complete, and officers are carrying out post and patrol procedures.
- Instruct officers on their job requirements at specific post, write reports relating to their inspections, and observe activities on post and patrol areas which ensure security and safety policies and procedures are within compliance.
- Patrol the building and property of the hospital at various times during a shift. Patrols include the reporting of fire safety issues, inspections of security electronic systems, challenging unauthorized persons, provide employee or visitor escorts, restrain a patient or unauthorized person, and converse with hospital employees on security issues.
- Properly utilize the security tour system to observe unauthorized persons, fire safety violations, and defective security systems, greet and correspond with patients, visitors and staff in a professional manner, and effectively report verbally or in writing the outcome of the patrol.
- Supervise the daily activities of the security officers and ensure officers are on posts and posts are covered, ensure officers get designated breaks, properly discipline officers not following hospital or department policies and procedures, respond to situations involving security issues, assisting security officers in the performance of their duties and other employees when necessary. Issues and conducts annual performance evaluations of Security Officer staff.
- Observe all activities occurring on the shift; write reports on shift activities, unusual occurrences, incidents, and statistics; make decisions related to the supervision of the shift, use proper judgment in administering decisions, and communicate appropriately to all department and hospital staff. Complete incident reports and other departmental reports are required.
- Check all department equipment at the beginning of each tour to ensure that the equipment is present and in proper order including computer systems, vehicles, tour recorders, all keys and key systems, radios, intercoms and all other equipment necessary in or to provide security services. Review all department reports contiguously on a daily basis, specifically at the beginning of each tour such as incident reports, email, logbooks, and all other reports and notices.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or GED. Current and valid NYS Security Guard License. Current and valid NYS Drivers License. Current and valid Basic Life Support to include Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator. Current and valid Crisis Prevention/Intervention (CPI) certification(Must be obtained within 90 days of Hire date). Current and valid First-Aid training certificate or documented equivalent training evidence. 1 - 2 years Safety or security operations. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, customer service, leadership skills. Demonstrated knowledge of fire apparatus and equipment, CCTV systems, phones, intercom, oxygen and generator alarms, radio systems, Morse Watchman tour system, access control computer, video ID system, electronic key box, incident reporting. Ability to interpret Federal regulations and standards applicable to Health care settings. Basic computer skills including MS Office, Outlook..

Preferred Qualifications:
Some College. 1-2 years Law enforcement operations (from an Accredited Law Enforcement Academy). 1-2 years Management or Supervisory in a Hospital or Healthcare related environment.

The salary range for the role is $66,300.00 - $91,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
