Position Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing daily operations on the production floor to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output. This role focuses on meeting production schedules, maintaining adherence to company standards, supporting employee development, and driving continuous improvement. The Production Supervisor will serve as a key link between production employees and management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Directly supervise a team of hourly production employees.
    • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure accountability to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
    • Provide coaching, feedback, and corrective actions as needed to build a strong, engaged workforce.
  • Production Planning & Execution
    • Ensure production schedules and customer delivery requirements are met.
    • Coordinate workflow to optimize labor, equipment, and material usage.
    • Monitor takt time, cycle time, and throughput to meet efficiency targets.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Enforce company safety policies and procedures.
    • Conduct safety talks, audits, and corrective actions to maintain a safe workplace.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO/quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Quality & Continuous Improvement
    • Monitor work to ensure adherence to quality standards and resolve issues quickly.
    • Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to implement process improvements.
    • Lead problem-solving initiatives (root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions).
  • Employee Development
    • Support onboarding and training of new employees.
    • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
    • Participate in performance reviews and recommend promotions or disciplinary actions.
  • Communication & Reporting
    • Communicate production priorities, goals, and updates to the team.
    • Track and report on production metrics including output, scrap, downtime, and attendance.
    • Collaborate with other supervisors, leads, and management to align on production goals.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
    • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
    • Experience in automotive or RV manufacturing is a plus.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work orders, and technical documents.
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods on the production floor.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise, and exposure to materials.
