Job Overview:

The Clinical Coordinator provides supervision to therapy staff in home community-based environments. Completes hospital and Department of Health NJEIS supervisory paperwork.With Director, manager assures all 90 day and APRs are completed. Provides guidance to staff in completing state required paperwork for Initial Evaluations, assessments, BDIs and IFSP meetings. Provides suggestions to Director and manager in providing efficient and effective services as well as collaborate with Director manager in assuring uniformity in the provision of discipline specific services.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Education or related field
  • Licensed by state of NJ as indicated by profession - Occupational Therapy License, Physical Therapy License, Speech Language Pathologist License or Formal Teacher Certification
  • Valid NJ driver's license and clean driving record
  • 3 years of experience in Early Intervention
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Part C and NJ specific policies

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • License as indicated by Profession
  • NJ Driver's License

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Part Time
  • 32 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • Direct Supervision of assigned therapy staff
  • Provides mentorship, guidance and direct observation on a regular basis of all staff assigned
  • Completes 90 day reviews and APR for all assigned staff
  • Monitors daily schedule of assigned staff notifies Manager of openings and scheduling challenges
  • Completes annual self-assessment paperwork including record reviews, and session note reviews
  • Provides training at staff meetings holds regular conference calls with assigned staff and other Education Clinical Coordinators
  • Provides supervision and guidance to TET members assigned to them
  • Remains current in all evidenced based practices for young children eligible for EIP
  • Demonstrates knowledge of discipline specific tools and checklists to utilize to fully assess child needs and then can detail and describe those strategies that are the sole domain of a licensed therapist versus strategies that can be addressed by any qualified member of the IFSP team
  • Uses the NJ Birth to Three Early Learning Standards as a common framework for understanding and communicating developmentally appropriate expectations for infants and toddlers
  • Delivers effective therapeutic services that are relevant to population served and remains knowledgeable of current techniques
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and team in oral and written formats in both formal and non-formal situations
  • Completes all paperwork in a professional and timely manner
  • Meets productivity demands by seeking out opportunities within the entire dept, when cancellations, no shows and low census occur
  • Takes responsibility for providing supervision or consultation in relationship to clinical performance
  • Actively contributes to improvement plans effectively utilizes feedback
  • Applies knowledge of normal developmental expectations
  • Selects, utilizes and evaluates the effectiveness of appropriate treatment methods
