What Makes This Role Great:

In this role you will act as construction expert, software evaluation guide, and trusted advisor as you demonstrate complex, client-specific solutions to solve data and workflow challenges. You will have the unique opportunity to consult directly with C-suite executives, using your deep construction industry expertise to influence the adoption of Trimble Construction One solutions and directly impact how the world's infrastructure is built.

Common duties for this position include inspirational presentations, complex prototype demonstrations, and follow-up support during the sales process. This position works closely with direct sales, customer sales, and the sales management team. The sales engineer helps ensure that Trimble products are represented accurately and that client questions and concerns are addressed effectively.

Key Exciting Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate Captivating Solutions: Lead high-impact technical demonstrations and "discovery" sessions, expertly documenting and solving critical business issues for prospective construction partners.

  • Architect Visionary Prototypes: Design and present complex, cross-application prototype solutions that validate software efficacy and showcase the future of connected construction workflows.

  • Strategize with Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to CEOs, CFOs, and COOs, providing construction industry expertise to address high-level business concerns and facilitate successful partnerships.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Educational Foundation: You hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Construction Management (or equivalent expert experience in construction management or construction software consulting).

  • Industry Expertise: You possess deep knowledge of the construction industry, specifically concerning construction accounting, P&L metrics, key workflows (change orders, invoice review, etc.), and data collection. You know how construction companies collect and manage data, how they use data to set up KPIs, and how you can improve their decision-making.

  • Software Proficiency: You have hands-on experience with Trimble Viewpoint Software or similar enterprise-level ERP solutions (e.g., Vista, Spectrum, CMiC, or Sage).

  • Communication Mastery: You are a natural communicator, able to translate complex technical specifications into persuasive presentations for diverse audiences.

  • Reliability and Integrity: You will represent Trimble with honesty, integrity, and professionalism. You handle confidential and sensitive information and records with a high degree of discretion, diligence, and good judgement.

Bonus Points For:

  • Pre-Sales Veteran: Prior experience in a dedicated Sales Engineer or Customer Success role within the SaaS space.

  • Heavy Civil expertise: Prior experience as a key employee (controller, accountant, project manager, etc.) for a contractor that specializes in horizontal or underground construction.

Logistics:

  • Location: Remote, US.

Travel Requirement: Up to 25%.

Compensation: Trimble provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full time schedule. Trimble reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
