Intermodal Carrier Operations Manager

The Intermodal Carrier Operations Manager is expected to have strong analytical and refined decision-making skills and is accountable for the tactical execution of network specific strategies. They are responsible for issue resolution, continuously working to procure capacity, and creating solutions on service-issue lanes and losing lanes. They'll prioritize mitigating issues on the department's most difficult lanes to put RXO in the most advantageous position with our customer base.

DAILY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to):

• Team Performance
  • Order Management: Oversee all operations within assigned regions and correct deficiencies and support issue resolution.
  • Monitor and evaluate employee performance by setting expectations, providing feedback, conducting performance reviews, and implementing performance improvement plans (PIPs) as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvements to contribute to the development of best practices and enhance operational efficiency.
  • SOP Management: Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
• Network Strategy
  • Understand the commitments & strategy of Intermodal by working with Sales, Ops, and Pricing to define the commitment strategy and network needs of our carrier and customer base.
• Service & Profitability
  • Execution of Strategic bids: setting targets, communicating needs and expectations.
  • Holding carriers accountable to commitments.
  • Develop relationships with drayage carriers' higher-level contacts (terminal managers, VPs, etc.).
  • Procure capacity for lanes that are experiencing service issues or losses, and continue to feed and support preferred lanes

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, CHARACTERISTICS, & EXPERIENCE:

• Adaptable, collaborative work style
• 5 years industry experience preferred
• 2 years people management experience preferred

Starting pay:

Compensation for this role is $70,000 annually. The role may also be eligible for bonus or commission pay. Actual compensation may vary due to factors such as experience and skill set.
