Job Purpose

We're hiring an AMI Data Integration & Analytics Specialist to evolve and support the data backbone that powers National Grid's AMI Operations Center. This role blends deep technical expertise, data governance principles, and problemsolving instincts to transform raw meter and network data into automated, reliable insights that drive decisionmaking and operational excellence.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide technical expertise in data extraction, transformation, and visualization, enabling business users to make informed decisions.
  • Enable business continuity by automating daily report updates and BI workflows.
  • Develop, automate, and maintain centralized meter issue queues and reporting dashboards for AMI performance and billing health.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., Snowflake, network health systems) to enable real-time tracking and categorization of meter issues.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate manual reporting processes into automated workflows, reducing reliance on ad hoc Excel-based methods.
  • Support the creation and enhancement of Power BI or similar analytics tools for operational and strategic reporting needs.
  • Work closely with DE and other IT teams to align data models, resolve integration challenges, and implement enhancements as requirements evolve.
  • Use Copilot and Copilot premium to enhance, streamline and automate operational processes and workflows to monitor and resolve Advanced Metering Infrastructure events and alarms.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience as a data engineer or data analysis & reporting specialist.
  • Experience with data governance, product management, business analysis,and BI reporting design highly desirable.
  • Technical skills: SQL, Snowflake (preferred), relational databases, Python or other scripting languages, PowerBI, PowerAutomate (nice-to-have), workflow automation leveraging AI tools such as Copilot or ChatGPT

Salary: $108,00 - $127,000
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
