Location: 1800 Orleans Street, Myer 2-109, Baltimore, Maryland 21287



Shift: Full Time (40 hours), Day Shift; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Weekends Required: No



Position Summary: The Receptionist is responsible for greeting and appropriately directing patients/visitors/guests while treating medical center staff, visitors, physicians, patients, and families in a professional and courteous manner. This position is often the first point of contact for clients, patients, and customers. The Receptionist will consistently display a positive attitude in the workplace and demonstrate a calm, professional demeanor during stressful situations.



The main responsibilities include:

* Greets clients, visitors, and guests; determines the purpose of each person's visit and directs or escorts him or her to the appropriate location.

* Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to staff; takes messages and schedules appointments.

* Receives mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and delivers or distributes items.

* Performs administrative, clerical support tasks, filing, and recordkeeping.



Education: Minimum of a high school degree. Vocational training in medical receptionist and medical billing is preferred.



Licensure/Certification: none



Required Work Experience: 6 months of experience in healthcare/medical practice preferred.



Working Conditions:

* Works in a normal office environment where there are limited physical discomforts due to temperature, noise, dust, etc.

* Prolonged periods of sitting.

* Must be able to lift 10 pounds at times.

Salary Range: Minimum 17.37/hour - Maximum 23.03/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
