Requisition Summary

Global PACCAR Powertrain is seeking a talented Summer Intern with a strong interest in the future of transportation to join our Global Powertrain team. The intern will support Domain Owners and Controls Engineers by assisting with requirements development and creating Simulink models for emerging function concepts.

What to Expect

  • Internships are in-person for 40 hours a week for a minimum of 12 weeks
  • Location: Lewisville, TX
  • Start Date: May 18, 2026, or June 22, 2026
  • Visa Sponsorship (e.g., H-1B, TN, OPT, etc.) is not available for this position

About Global PACCAR Powertrain

PACCAR Powertrain is the newest business unit within PACCAR, dedicated to delivering advanced powertrain solutions for Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF trucks. This includes the development of sophisticated heavy-duty engine technologies, along with essential support functions such as testing, validation, and aftersales service. As part of this team, you will collaborate with a global, cross-functional group focused on engineering innovative solutions that enhance customer uptime and drive operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications
  • Develop Simulink models for described functionality
  • Support requirements development in Doors Next Gen (DNG) environment
  • Support Function Architecture development in Rhapsody
  • Coordinate model and requirement development activities with lead engineers in NA and EU
  • Support deliverable planning and tracking in EWM (RTC)
Additional Attributes

The skills that are important to be successful in this position are as follows:

  • Currently a 3rd- or 4th-year student pursuing a bachelor's degree (graduating 2026-2027) in Automotive engineering or similar, Master's preferred
  • Strong Matlab/Simulink skills
  • Experience with Rhapsody is a plus
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Past exposure to automotive industry is a plus
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering
Compensation and Benefit
  • The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hour (pay varies by undergraduate and graduate degree)
