National Grid is hiring a Technical Delivery Manager (Software and Systems Quality Engineering Manager) for our IT/Digital group. This role is designated as hybrid, with an expectation of one or two days per week in one of our offices. Requirements may vary based on business needs and company policy. Job Purpose
The Technical Delivery Manager will be responsible for managing all facets of one of the largest technical initiatives the company has undertaken: Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI). In addition, the responsibilities include quality management of the customer-facing Unified Web Portal (UWP) used by customers to manage their accounts. This is a technical hands-on managerial leadership role where it is required to understand the integrated systems to lead the quality engineering team. This manager will manage multiple teams including feature testing, automated testing, performance testing, and Digital Twin Automation. This is a key strategic role within our Quality Engineering team. The Technical Delivery Manager will be the "go to" person for other teams for both product readiness inquiries and production troubleshooting. Key Accountabilities
* Define and implement test strategy for multiple disciplines already in place. The objective is to evolve the team to be efficient without sacrificing quality. * Oversee the testing full life-cycle from requirements, design, execution, analysis, and reporting for all of the quality engineering efforts. * Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to determine scope and needs of testing * Standardize and optimize current processes to enable process automation, digital initiatives, system deployments, new products etc. * Develop a well-defined strategy that has broad agreement and is integrated with digital transformation efforts. * Focus on improving the maintainability, increase automated test coverage and decrease manual test executions. * Be open to exploring new technologies and methodologies including using AI tools to generate test scripts, execute scripts, analyze coverage, create test data, etc. * Develop and maintain relationships with other IT solution functions and customers.
