As the Vice President (VP) of Distribution, you will lead our company's transportation, internal and external warehouse operations, inventory deployment, and customer delivery, managing a dynamic team across multiple locations to ensure the efficient and timely movement of finished goods. This pivotal role involves overseeing the storage and warehousing of products, spearheading cost-reduction initiatives, and optimizing the supply chain process with the key goal of delivery on time in the most efficient manner. You will manage a portfolio of approximately 40 facilities, including dedicated distribution centers and third-party cold storage for both refrigerated and frozen logistics along with a private fleet of about 100 drivers. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Leadership: Responsible for the strategic leadership, development and organizational structure of an integrated supply chain with a specific focus on logistics, distribution, inventory control, and transportation excellence.

  • Strategic: Crafts a strategic vision to achieve best-in-class supply chain performance from both a cost and service perspective, clearly communicates this vision, translates it into actionable steps, and effectively mobilizes the supply chain team to execute these activities.

  • Process Optimization: Analyze and enhance processes for receiving, storing, picking, packing, shipping products to improve productivity, accuracy, and cycle times.

  • Vendor Relationships: Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers throughout our supply chain.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal supply chain stakeholders, business management, product management, operating and scheduling to enhance internal utilization, optimize the supply chain network, and ensure proper product placement and inventory control.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement innovative technology solutions for transportation, warehouse management systems, inventory systems, and other advanced analytical technology.

  • Fleet Management: Oversee and optimize private fleet operations, including, cost-saving initiatives, performance metrics, vehicle maintenance standards, and financial analysis to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Team Performance: Develop and monitor warehouse budgets, freight costs and key performance metrics (KPIs) for labor, space utilization, accuracy and on-time departure, among other KPI's.

  • Standardization: Responsible to standardize procedures and processes across all locations to increase results in safety, quality, and productivity across all distribution facilities.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field and 15+ years of progressive experience across a broad range of Supply Chain disciplines; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development is required.

  • 10+ years of management experience in a high-volume supply chain environment in a perishable food industry, required.

  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, transportation best practices and emerging technologies

  • SAP experience and in-depth use of WMS, TMS, YMS required.

  • Energized by collaboration through travel to other locations. (30% of the time).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with effective decision-making abilities.

  • Proven financial acumen with experience in managing a P&L.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Passionate about process optimization and maximizing team capabilities, with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Highly organized and efficient in multi-tasking, with a professional demeanor and ability to self-manage.
