We are in search of an Internal Auditor I or Internal Auditor II to join our Internal Audit department in Spokane, Washington or Rocklin, California. This full-time position reports to the SVP, Internal Audit and is responsible for the evaluation of management's internal controls, performing audit testing on operational audits and identifying, assessing and reporting on risk areas in the organization.

After an initial in-office training period, this position is eligible for workplace flexibility and a one-time home office stipend. Employees are expected to continue working from their office location a minimum of 50% or 60% of the time depending on location.

Compensation Information

The base salary range for this position in Spokane, Washington is:
Level I:
Typical starting: $66,200 - $88,700
Full base salary range: $66,200 - 99,900
Annual performance-based incentive target is 10% of base.
Level II:
Typical starting range: $72,600 - $99,900
Full base salary range: $72,600 - $125,200
Annual performance-based incentive target is 10 or 12% of base depending on experience.

The base salary range for this position in Rocklin, California is:
Level I:
Typical starting range: $75,700 - $101,600
Full base salary range: $75,700 - $114,600
Annual performance-based incentive target is 10% of base.
Level II:
Typical starting range: $83,100 - $114,600
Full base salary range: $83,100 - $144,100
Annual performance-based incentive target is 10 or 12% of base depending on experience.

Job Requirements



  • Perform audit testing with a focus on the effectiveness of internal controls related to financial reporting.
  • Perform audit testing with a focus on operational audits relating to operational objectives, reliability of reporting information and compliance with policies, procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist with simple credit/loan reviews including evaluation of loans and lending relationships for adherence to established lending policies and procedures, as needed.
  • Prepare work papers which accurately represent the audit testing completed and conclusions reached.
  • Prepare preliminary summary of findings and draft internal audit reports to accurately summarize audit testing, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Generally, requires at least two years accounting, audit or similar experience
  • Knowledge of sound business processes and ability to identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts and risk-based auditing techniques
  • Ability to work independently and effectively plan and prepare for audits
  • Ability to discern between material and immaterial issues
  • Strong technical ability to utilize and maximize varied technology and systems
  • Ability to maintain complete discretion concerning confidential matters


Preferred Requirements



  • CPA/CIA/CFE/CISA Licensure/certification or candidacy
