Title: Principal Engineer Location: WI Job Type: Regular Full-time, exempt What's the Opportunity? Anchor QEA's operations are growing in the Great Lakes Region (e.g., MN, WI, IL, IN, MI). We are looking for a Principal-level consultant to join our team to support active remedial investigation, design, and construction quality assurance projects, as well as lead regional growth in these service areas. The successful candidate will be able to work alongside others in a fast-paced environment and be enthusiastic about their work and growing the market with a strong commitment to health and safety and technical excellence. Responsibilities: Below is a summary of responsibilities that can be anticipated:
- Oversee and lead existing and future field investigation, remedial design, and construction management projects in the region.
- Lead business development by identifying opportunities, cultivating clients, leading proposals, preparing business capture plans, and directing related pursuits.
- Build and expand key relationships with industry leaders and organizations advancing the field.
- Represent and lead marketing initiatives, including but not limited to conference attendance, committee membership for technical and professional societies, and proposal development and new client contacts.
- Evaluate current skills and services offered by Anchor QEA's field services and construction management groups and working with the field services and construction management leaders, identify gaps within the desired skills for continued practice growth.
- Support the development of project scopes of work and cost estimates.
- Serve as an expert resource for leadership on field investigation, remedial design, and construction projects, including coordinating with those in the roles of project manager, technical lead, senior review, quality assurance/quality control review, and principal-in-charge.
- Follow Anchor QEA policies and procedures, including but not limited to environmental health and safety, quality assurance, and quality control.
- Travel away from home office is required up to 50% of the time.
What Are We Looking For? Ideal candidates will have the following:
- S. or higher degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
- Minimum 15 years of consulting experience as a resident engineer or construction manager with overall project responsibility with general contractors or design/build firms
- PE license in WI and other states in the region
- Strong communicationskills: understands various methods for effective interactions and seeks to have others engage to gain greater clarity and collaboration.
- Strong track record on leading construction projects with exemplary safety records
- Business development experience with a proven track record in developing and securing new clients and projects to foster business growth
- Strong leader with experience in managing and motivating numerous staff, resource management, and equipment management
- Desire and ability to collaborate with various groups and staff within the company; excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competencies: Problem solving/critical thinking, client focus, communication, teamwork and collaboration, and leadership
- Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS and use of field tablets for data collection) preferred but not required
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and first aid and CPR training
- Clean driving record

- Salary range -$160,000 - $210,000
- Annual Bonus
- Other potential bonus types: Billable Time Bonus, Spot Bonus, Milestone Anniversary Bonus, Receiving Professional License/Certification Bonus, Peer-Reviewed Publication Bonus, Employee Referral Bonus
Base Level Benefits for Regular Full-Time Positions:
