OnPath Credit Union is looking for a Consumer Underwriting Supervisor to join our team! The salary range for this position is $56,159.83 to $70,199.78 based on skills and experience. This position is classified as Remote.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Consumer Loan Underwriting Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Director of Consumer Lending with organizing, planning, and leading the consumer loan underwriting functions, including HELOCs, to maximize member satisfaction, efficiency and growth. Implements departmental lending
operational procedures consistent with overall company policies and strategies. The Consumer Loan Underwriting Supervisor will lead and assist employees in the underwriting, funding and fulfillment of all consumer loans and HELOCs. Conducts daily business interactions and maintains constant alignment with OnPath's mission, culture, and core values. Encourages others to act with mission, culture, and core values in mind always. Demonstrates initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific direction from management. Ensures value through decision making that supports credit union goals and interests. Passionately displays a desire to build rapport and expand relationships with all members both internally and externally. Stays informed on OnPath's products and services to provide the right recommendations to the right members at the right time. Promotes and maintains a positive image of the credit union to peers, members, and communities we serve.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Team/Product Management: * Ensures the Consumer Underwriting team is running optimally with adequate staffing and training to perform their jobs. * Ensures all service level expectations are met and department work is completed within expected timelines. * Reviews and updates all consumer underwriting procedures as necessary to ensure alignment with Credit Union policy. * Ensures team members complete required annual trainings. * Effectively communicates policy/procedure changes and all other relevant Credit Union information with team and management. * Completes team member performance reviews within established deadlines. * Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Coaching: * Coaches team to achieve extraordinary levels of service to both internal and external members. * Coaches team members on daily tasks and contribute to their professional development. * Sets clear performance expectations and supports the individual team member's success. * Conducts regular formal coaching sessions with individuals or groups to support team and individual results. * Provides timely feedback to keep individuals and team moving towards goals. * Holds team members accountable for performance expectations.
Self-Management: * Maintains focus on personal and professional growth. * Seeks out opportunities to add value to the team and the organization. * Holds themselves to high performance standards. * Maintains and grows industry knowledge and seeks out opportunities to grow credit union membership and organizational impact.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience
Three to five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions. Management experience preferred.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
A high school degree or GED is required.
Interpersonal Skills
A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.
Other Skills
Strong decision-making skills, and high emotional intelligence is required. Proficiency in conflict resolution and effective delegation is essential. Exceptional time management and communication skills are vital, along with a commitment to fostering creativity, mentoring team members, and driving continuous improvement. Adaptability, customer focus, financial acumen, are also necessary for success in this role.
