Position: Resident Project Representative/Project Engineer/Project Manager

Location: Jeffersonville, Indiana



Responsibilities

    Inspect construction work on transportation, utility, and municipal infrastructure projects to document conformity with construction standards, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Complete and maintain records of field observations, including daily reports outlining the work performed, as well as field measurements and computations for the quantity of completed work eligible for payment.
  • Perform material sampling and testing on applicable materials such as soil, aggregate, asphalt, concrete, utility backfill, compaction tests, concrete tests, and other required quality assurance activities.
  • Perform project administration duties such as preparing monthly pay applications and change orders for presentation to the client.
  • Assist other project management staff with identifying problems and developing practical solutions for consideration.
  • Provide management and leadership to other construction supervisors and inspection staff on multiple projects.
  • Review construction documents for constructability issues and provide feedback to the owner and designer.
  • Respond to and facilitate responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractors.
  • Coordinate with contractors, utility owners, municipalities, clients, and other project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  • Serve as a representative of the firm at all required meetings, leading client coordination throughout construction. Prepare meeting minutes documenting discussion topics, major decisions, action items, and information needs.
  • Willing to work in extreme temperatures, as some work assignments are outdoors. Applicant must have the ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Five (5) or more years of construction inspection experience, preferably involving transportation, utility, municipal, water, wastewater, or other public infrastructure projects
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
  • Basic knowledge of, or the ability to gain working knowledge of, quality requirements for construction materials and installation practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, standards, and contract documents
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Previous INDOT, KYTC, municipal, utility owner, or local agency construction inspection experience is highly preferred
  • Experience with utility infrastructure such as water distribution, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, force mains, utility relocations, or similar underground infrastructure is a plus
  • INDOT Certified Technician, Qualified Technician, and SiteManager/AWP Certification and experience is preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
