Overview

The HR Coordinator is responsible for administering employee leave programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies. This role serves as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave requests, ensuring accurate processing, timely communication, and a positive employee experience.


Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage employee leave requests, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, parental leave, medical leave, military leave, and applicable state or territory-specific leave programs
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource to employees and managers regarding leave policies, procedures, and eligibility
  • Review leave documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable laws and company policy
  • Coordinate with payroll, benefits, HR, and third-party leave administrators to ensure proper tracking, pay, and benefit continuation
  • Maintain accurate and confidential leave records in HR systems
  • Monitor leave timelines and proactively communicate with employees regarding required documentation, return-to-work dates, and next steps
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations related to leave and accommodations
  • Support the interactive process for accommodations, as applicable
  • Prepare reports and metrics related to leave usage and trends
  • Participate in audits and assist with policy updates and process improvements
  • Provide compassionate, professional support to employees during sensitive situations

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience administering employee leave programs, HR operations, or benefits administration
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other applicable leave laws (state, local, or territory-specific knowledge preferred)
  • Experience working with third-party leave administrators
  • Experience in a multi-state or multi-location environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation:Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
