Description

Langley Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Email Automation Specialist to manage and optimize our marketing automation initiatives within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, data-driven professional who can translate strategic marketing goals into thoughtful automated journeys, personalized campaigns, and actionable insights.

The Email Automation Specialist will be responsible for leveraging SFMC's full suite of tools to deliver targeted, personalized email campaigns. This individual will collaborate closely with marketing counterparts, data science, member experience and tech teams to ensure seamless integration with our enterprise-wide Salesforce CRM, enhancing engagement and marketing performance across all channels.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:



  • Lead our Marketing Automation Platform: Manage and enhance Salesforce Marketing Cloud to ensure our email and automation programs run smoothly, reach the right audiences, and connect seamlessly with our existing Salesforce system.
  • Design and Execute Automated Journeys: Build and manage dynamic, multi-step member journeys to support acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and retention campaigns.
  • Email Content & Design: Develop engaging email templates, content, and calls-to-action that align with brand standards and drive measurable results across campaigns.
  • Audience Segmentation & Data Management: Collaborate across departments to design and manage targeted audience segments that support personalized, data-driven marketing campaigns and enhance overall member engagement.
  • Campaign Performance & Optimization: Define KPIs, analyze campaign results, and implement A/B and multivariate testing to continuously improve engagement metrics (open rate, CTR, conversion rate, ROI).
  • Cross-Channel Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, digital, and creative teams to ensure consistent brand and messaging alignment across email, web, and digital campaigns.
  • List Growth & Data Health: Manage the ongoing growth and quality of Langley's email marketing lists, maintaining strong sender reputation, deliverability, and compliance with CAN-SPAM and other regulatory standards.
  • Quality & Best Practices: Stay current on email marketing standards and privacy regulations to ensure our communications are compliant, effective, and respectful of member data.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay ahead of new Salesforce Marketing Cloud features, emerging automation trends, and best practices to ensure Langley remains a leader in marketing innovation.
  • Works on special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in email automation and CRM-driven marketing campaigns, with at least 2 years of direct experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, and Audience Builder).


Certifications (Preferred but not Required):



  • Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist (Must obtain within six months of employment)
  • Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator or Developer
  • Salesforce CRM Administrator Certification


Technical Skills:



  • Must have experience leveraging the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Content Builder, Journey Builder and Automation Studio.
  • Must have demonstratable experience leveraging SQL/queries for building data extensions.
  • Comfortable working within marketing automation platforms to create personalized, dynamic, and visually engaging email content.
  • Experience with marketing analytics and reporting tools (Google Analytics, SFMC Analytics Builder, or Tableau preferred)
  • Comfortable working with audience data to build targeted segments and personalized campaigns.
  • Experience with member data privacy and security best practices

Work is performed in an indoor, climate-controlled office environment where the noise level is typically quiet. Core business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern.
