Psych Registered Nurse (RN) Opportunity - PRN 7am-7:00pm and 7pm-7:300am Shifts Available - Including Weekends The Psychiatric Institute of Washingtonprovides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PIW is a 130 bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. PIW has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare. Situated in the safe, historical Tenleytown neighborhood, PIW is one mile from the Tenleytown Metro stop and within walking distance to local cafes and restaurants. The Role: The RN - Intake, under the supervision of the Director - Admissions, provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment to assist the physician in identification of appropriate level of care for potential patients. The RN - intake serves as the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. The RN - Intake works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data and verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted.
