Position Summary
The Foundation Human Resources Administrator is a business-embedded role responsible for the day-to-day execution of operational and administrative functions in support of Foundation leadership, physicians, and staff. While not part of the formal Human Resources Hospital function, this role works in close partnership with the Physicians Organization (PO) Human Resources to ensure accurate, compliant, and consistent application of payroll, benefits, retirement administration, onboarding, leave administration, and workforce policies. This role emphasizes operational excellence, confidentiality, and coordination across business, finance, and Physician Organization Human Resources partners.

Key responsibilities
People & Workforce Administration
  • Support onboarding logistics and HR compliance requirements to ensure a smooth and compliant physician experience.
  • Administer benefits and retirement plans, following ERISA requirements, for physicians and Foundation-appointed personnel, including ongoing maintenance and issue resolution.
  • Administer payroll processes specific to the Foundation, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with wage and hour regulations, including FLSA requirements.
  • Coordinate Leave of Absence processes, serving as a primary point of contact for Foundation employees and partnering with the PO as needed.
  • Organize and support annual open enrollment periods, including Foundation employee communications and coordination with vendors and the PO.
  • Maintains active communication with Foundation employees and team members via web portals, email systems, and the intranet to ensure openness and responsiveness to team members' questions and concerns.
  • Maintains the foundation employee handbook.
Policy, Compliance & Coordination
  • Ensure consistent application of pay practices and maintain strict confidentiality of compensation and personnel information.
  • Work with foundation and departmental staff to ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and budget guidelines.
  • Identify, interpret, and apply relevant policies and procedures in partnership with PO and Hospital HR.
  • Maintain regular coordination with Hospital HR Management to stay informed of regulatory, compliance, and policy updates impacting the workforce.
  • Manages all foundation-related insurance, including health, life, liability, fiduciary, travel, property, and dental.
  • Works with external HR and benefit auditing firms to complete yearly compliance reporting and audits.
Business & Administrative Support
  • Develops, implements, and maintains automated systems to support human resource programs and activities.
  • Advises Foundation executive leadership on compensation and benefits programs, including competitive positioning, benefit-cost, and utilization review.
  • Perform a variety of administrative functions in support of the Foundation executive leadership, the Foundation teams, and staff.
  • Serves on any necessary committees for the Foundation or the PO at the Hospital.
  • Act as a liaison between the Foundation, Finance, and HR PO to support effective day-to-day HR operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.

Experience:
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience supporting payroll, benefits administration, leave coordination, or compliance activities.
  • Experience partnering with HR, People Operations, Finance, or shared services teams in a non-HR capacity.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to follow and apply policies consistently while exercising sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience in healthcare, foundations, physician practices, or similarly regulated environments is a plus.
  • Comfortable operating in a highly collaborative, service-oriented role.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
