Position will be posted until filled. BASIC FUNCTION: The Crop Insurance Operations and Processing Leader is responsible for supporting the Crop Insurance Consultants through evaluation of workflow assigned documents; research of minimally complex insurance topics; collection and submission of all crop insurance documents; data entry into Approved Insurance Providers (AIP) systems; servicing the book of business in a fast-paced environment, customer contact and providing clerical and technical support. In addition, this position serves as the Crop Insurance Business Administrator for crop insurance supporting systems and provides business and technical support to Crop Insurance team members. The incumbent also serves as a Crop Insurance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Sales Support Business Development Team (SS BDT) and provides business and technical expertise to advise and support development of crop insurance technical solutions. This position is a working leadership role responsible for both team management and processing related documentation to secure coverage for the customers we serve. This hands-on leadership position collaborates with the Director of Customer Risk Management to develop and align processing workflows, daily processing activity of customer service representatives, and to ensure that the insurance book of business meets the quality standards and objectives of our Association. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Collaborates with Crop Insurance Consultants to support the sales and service of crop insurance policies. Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision; ensures customer service is maintained at a high level; follows-up with applications, reporting, claims, and conservation compliance.
- Obtains and maintains all required insurance licenses. Develops and retains a thorough understanding of federal and private crop insurance policy provisions, actuarial information, underwriting standards, and procedures for all insurance products offered by the Association.
- Provides expertise in reviewing insurance documents for completeness, accuracy, and program compliance, entering, mapping and transmitting insurance data to the AIP's using AIP programs and systems. Participates as a member of a processing team and completes an equitable workload to support the team in meeting their processing deadlines.
- Operates within Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) and Farm Credit Administration (FCA) authorities. Conducts business within rules, regulations, policy and procedures with ethics and integrity.
- Works to enhance insurance operations and documentation processes through continuous improvement and automation initiatives to ensure accurate data, efficient processing methods, and maintenance of customer files.
- Business Administration of Crop Insurance Systems - provides business level support to Crop Insurance Consultants and CSRs for capturing digital information in workflows, document storage, form generation, document tracking and various agency reports. Trouble shoots issues related to missing documents, misplaced documents, or process errors; Reports to SS BDT and works with SS BDT team members to resolve system issues in a timely manner.
- Subject Matter Expert for Sales Support Business Development Team -Works daily with the SS BDT team members to provide business and technical expertise regarding crop insurance solutions, systems, reporting requirements, data requirements, forms, and process workflows. Provides product quality assurance reviews, testing support and team reporting on the Association communication platform for each sprint release.
- Operational Support- Actively participates in the Crop Insurance Procedure Development and Review Committee. Evaluate and update Association Policy and Procedures. Collaborate with team members to determine training needs. Work in conjunction with other assignees to determine scope, conduct compliance reviews and complete review reporting in accordance with Association Policy and Procedures.
- Performs other functions as assigned.
LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:
- Leads, selects, directs, trains, and oversees the work of the Customer Service Representatives through the direct supervision of assigned staff including performance evaluations, goal setting, hiring and termination.
- Makes independent decisions; works under direct supervision of the Director of Customer Risk Management.
TYPICAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- College degree preferred, or relevant combination of education and business in related field or related business experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Appropriate insurance licenses.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of capturing digital information in workflows, document storage, form generation, document tracking and various agency reports.
- Significant knowledge of the insurance industry and all insurance products and services.
- Demonstrated ability to generate highly accurate work. Must be proficient in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in use of computer and mobile devices, to connect and utilize a wide variety of software and cloud- based systems and applications.
- Must possess strong ability to build customer relationships, leadership, and supervisory skills.
- Ability to motivate, coach, develop and train staff within a team environment including staff in remote locations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in the use of PC, including e-mail, word processing and electronic spreadsheet.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period of time. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Travel required in performance of job.
PART-TIME REMOTE/HYBRID: These employees will work partly remote and partly onsite. Part-time remote employees will work with their managers to determine when and how often they are needed onsite.
PAY RANGE: Minimum $77,899.27 - Max $140,218.68 Annual
This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
Reflected is the national base pay range and title offered for this job at the current level. Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. Salary offered, within the applicable range, is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates.
