The Spirit of the Position:

The Operations Supervisor is the on-site operational ambassador for LAZ Parking in the Lansing market. This hybrid role combines hands-on facility maintenance with administrative and customer service responsibilities. The Supervisor will oversee one parking garage and an adjacent surface lot, ensuring both locations are clean, safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently.

This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in facility upkeep, enjoys independent work, and can confidently represent LAZ Parking to clients, partners, and the public.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Operations & Maintenance

• Serve as the primary on-site manager for one parking garage and an adjacent surface lot.

• Perform daily cleaning, upkeep, and light maintenance of both facilities.

• Ensure signage, equipment, lighting, and access systems are functioning properly.

• Conduct routine inspections and address operational issues proactively.

• Coordinate with vendors for repairs or larger maintenance needs.

Customer Service & Client Relations

• Act as the on-site ambassador for LAZ Parking and maintain positive relations with property partners.

• Assist customers with questions, concerns, validations, and general support.

• Escalate unresolved issues to regional leadership when appropriate.

Operational Management & Reporting

• Monitor occupancy, equipment functionality, and facility conditions.

• Prepare and submit daily/weekly operational reports as required.

• Support implementation of LAZ operational standards, safety regulations, and compliance protocols.

Event & Weekend Coordination

• Support scheduled events requiring traffic flow, equipment monitoring, or customer guidance.

• Participate in weekend or off-hour coverage as needed.

• Assist with planning and future staffing models (including integrating a future PT/oncall weekend role).

Qualifications

• Previous experience in parking operations, facility maintenance, hospitality, customer service, or related fields preferred.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

• Comfortable performing physical tasks including cleaning and light maintenance.

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

• Basic computer literacy for reporting and administrative tasks.

• Reliable transportation and the ability to perform hybrid on-site/administrative work.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.

• Hybrid: majority on-site with limited administrative remote work.

• Will include occasional evenings, weekends, and event support.

• Long-term staffing may include oversight of a part-time/on-call weekend support position.
