HDR is seeking a highly motivated Senior Transit Consultant to support HDR's Transit Market Sector. This position will provide project management and technical services to Transit agency clients with a focus on rural transit agencies. Specifically, this individual will work to pursue, manage, and deliver projects and respond to client needs related to transit projects. This position requires strong management skills and the ability to work with different facets of transit and public agency staff and capital projects. The ideal candidate will have broad experience working with rural Transit public agencies. The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local standards and requirements associated with transit projects and an understanding of project delivery processes for various phases of project development. The ideal candidate will also act as a seller-doer project manager that leads project pursuits and helps grow market share, through cooperation with the Transit Market Sector Leader and the business development and marketing team. The position may require travel to participate in client projects, marketing pursuits, and internal meetings and events. The primary duties of the Senior Transit Consultant are to: * Serve as the project manager or in project management support roles on transit infrastructure projects. * Plan, direct, supervise, and monitor all aspects of multidisciplinary projects including: developing work scopes and negotiating contract services; taking responsibility for the project from the proposal stage through project development; coordinating workload to complete projects on schedule and within budget; independently coordinating the work of professional staff. * Produce and coordinate several transit projects concurrently. * Serve as a point of contact between the client and HDR and help to enhance client relationships and be involved in contractual, design, and production meetings. * Participate in proposal development and other marketing activities as a seller-doer pursuit champion or support role, as appropriate. * Coordinate with governmental and private agencies (stakeholders, cities, counties, DOT, etc.) in the planning of transit projects. * Implement QA/QC procedures and perform detailed QC reviews of transit projects. * Work with Transit Market Sector Leader and other area managers to coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project development to complete deliverables on schedule. * Work with Transit Market Sector Leader and other area managers to supervise project staff, act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers, and execute training for personnel as established by strategic plans. * Perform other duties, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Planning, Engineering, or related discipline.
* Professional registration such as AICP, PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP preferred. * Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with transit planning projects and programs. * Experienced in development and management of diverse teams. * The successful candidate must have knowledge of and experience with rural transit planning projects and programs. * Experience with FTA programs including Capital Investment Grants. * Well-developed analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills * Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or closely related field
- A minimum of 10 years consulting experience and extensive related expertise
- Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong relationship, organizational and follow-up skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
