Hearth & Home Technologies is looking for aDesign Engineer Internto join our Stoves Business Unit inHalifax, PA. We are the nation's leading manufacturer and supplier of hearth products, including a wide variety of gas, electric, wood and pellet burning fireplaces, inserts, stoves, and accessories. Headquartered in Lakeville, Minnesota, with distribution around the world, our innovative approach is supported by a business unit structure that allows us to develop and market products with a strong focus on customers' needs. Since 1996, we've been dedicated to connecting people through the warmth and comfort of our hearth products.
As one of our four core business units, the Stoves Business Unit brings together top brands such as Harman, Vermont Castings, and Quadra-Fire, now united under one as Forge & Flame, alongside other stove brands. This unit focuses on delivering high-quality, reliable stove solutions, including wood, pellet, and gas models.
Our internship will run for approximately 12 weeks during the summer of 2026 and is a paid internship at $24 per hour.
Each summer 10-20 students join HHT for a summer focused on hands on learning. As a Design Engineer, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the development and refinement of physical products from concept through production. This opportunity is ideal for students who are curious about how engineering decisions intersect with user needs, manufacturing constraints, and market requirements. Throughout the summer, professional development sessions are provided for interns including opportunities to learn from and network with senior leadership.
In this role, you'll contribute to a variety of engineering-focused projects, including competitive product teardowns, design benchmarking, portfolio and specification analysis, and support of new product development initiatives. You'll work alongside experienced engineers to assist with CAD modeling, design reviews, testing, documentation, and design-for-manufacturability considerations. This experience will provide valuable exposure to real-world engineering challenges within a manufacturing environment and help strengthen your problem-solving and technical communication skills.
Ideal candidates are juniors in college and have a strong interest in mechanical design and product development, possess solid analytical and technical skills, and are eager to learn in a collaborative team setting. This internship offers a meaningful opportunity to build practical engineering experience, develop professional skills, and lay the groundwork for a successful career in design and manufacturing engineering.
