Location: Bartow FL 33830

Duration: 06 months will be extended

Pay Rate: $22.00/hr.
Shift Timing (Day/ Evening/ Night): Day 8 am- 5pm


Job Description:

  • This position reports to the Telecommunications Supervisor. The Telecommunications Order Management Specialist works collaboratively with the Telecommunications team, the Division Fiscal Manager (IT), County divisions, Constitutionals, and external service providers to coordinate, process, and document all telecommunications service orders.
  • This position is responsible for ordering, modifying, disconnecting, and tracking voice, data, wireless, and circuit services to ensure accurate provisioning, timely delivery, cost control, and proper documentation within the County's enterprise telecommunications environment.


Required Skills:

  • Coordinates and processes service orders for voice lines, data circuits, SIP trunks, PRI, MPLS, broadband, wireless, and related telecommunications services.
  • Submits, tracks, and manages service orders and disconnect requests with telecommunications carriers and service providers.
  • Reviews and analyzes Customer Service Records (CSRs) to ensure accuracy of billing and service configurations.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of circuits, telephone numbers, account information, service inventories, and vendor records.
  • Communicates order status updates to County departments and stakeholders.
  • Coordinates service installations, changes, and disconnects to align with project timelines and operational needs.
  • Assists with billing review, dispute resolution, and cost verification related to telecommunications services.
  • Maintains and updates telecommunications databases, spreadsheets, and ticketing systems.
  • Supports service transitions, number porting, and carrier migrations as required.
  • Works with Telecommunications technical staff to ensure proper activation and decommissioning of services.
  • Provides reports related to service inventory, order status, and vendor performance.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Travel may be required.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited high school/trade school or possession of an equivalent diploma.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in telecommunications order management, provisioning, service coordination, or related administrative telecommunications support role.
  • Experience working with telecommunications carriers and service providers.
  • Working knowledge of voice and data circuit terminology (e.g., SIP, PRI, MPLS, broadband, analog, VoIP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and documentation management.
  • A comparable combination of related training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
