Focus:

This hands-on role administers and supports Winchester-managed, Army-accredited IT infrastructure, including network operations, daily technical support, and infrastructure projects. You'll play a critical part in securing and optimizing a Closed Restricted Network (CRN) for a classified program developing a new weapon system for the U.S. Army. Responsibilities include working directly with core technologies while partnering with IT teams to ensure compliance with strict government standards.

Secure Systems Administrator Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as the primary IT focal point for Lake City 's closed network, including configuration, maintenance, and connected hardware of the new 6.8 manufacturing facility.

  • Understand the needs and provide support to key program leaders for setup, configuration, and connectivity of user devices, servers, production equipment, and other program systems.

  • Represent IT on projects and support issues for Army-accredited networks and systems.

  • Create, organize, and maintain IT documentation to meet Army/USG auditing requirements and available to relevant Army Stakeholders and government staff when needed.

  • Deliver Level 3 support for Army-accredited environments and participate in infrastructure lifecycle projects (OS, database updates, cybersecurity reviews).

  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure compliance with required policies.

Secure Systems Administrator Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's or Master's degree* in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, networking, and system hardware.

  • Ability to obtain DoD/DoW Secret clearance; Active clearance preferred.

  • Experience with VMware, SQL, Cisco networking, and server administration preferred.

  • Familiarity with DoD/DoW compliance tools and STIGs is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, customer service, and communication skills.

  • Must possess a valid state driver's license

  • Less than 10% travel.

Location-Specific Requirements:

  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.

  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. To meet the government-facility requirements, the candidate must be a US citizen.
