Mid Coast Hospital is seeking a full time Supervisor- Environmental Services to join their team!

Summary: This position consists of 40 hours per week, day shifts.
Under the direction of the Director of Environmental Services, the Environmental Services Supervisor supports and collaborates with their co-Supervisor to manage assigned units and service activities and is responsible for: shift oversight of ES staff and assigned areas to assure that the hospital and remote facilities are maintained utilizing accepted asepsis techniques and isolation procedures; promote a documented training program of removal of all types of waste; provide an adequate supply of linen properly processed by an outside vendor in a clean, sanitary, attractive, and well-maintained condition to meet state, local and Joint Commission accreditation standards; and assure a suitable environment for the care of patients, as well as the work of the staff and visitors. This position includes providing cleaning services in defined scheduled areas and effectively communicating ES status with Director, staff, and shift-to-shift Supervisor. This is a hands-on position where daily direction comes from the Director of Environmental Services. Conducts appropriate monitoring and inspections of locations assigned by the ES Director to ensure standards are met, adhered to and maintained

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High School graduate or equivalent education preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Valid driver's license preferred.
  3. Experience: Minimum of three years in a supervisory position in a hospital setting with an emphasis on institutional cleaning policies and procedures is preferred. Sufficient previous experience to have knowledge of equipment, supplies, chemicals and ES operations.
  4. Courses in hospital or institutional environmental services management desirable.
  5. Demonstrated broad leadership potential.
  6. Must be able to relate well with others from a wide variety of backgrounds and have excellent communication skills.
  7. Basic computer skills are required.
