General Summary

Are you drawn to the leadership development industry? Are you curious about how leaders grow-and how leadership shapes organizations and communities? If so, the John R. Ryan Internship Program may be the perfect opportunity for you this summer. The John Ryan Internship was established in honor of our former President/CEO to provide college students from diverse backgrounds with meaningful, hands-on professional experience while supporting the Center for Creative Leadership's commitment to talent development, leadership, and inclusion.

At the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), interns contribute directly to our mission of building better leaders and a better world. As a John R. Ryan Intern, you will be challenged and inspired while collaborating with a global team of thought leaders, practitioners, researchers, and partners.

The John R. Ryan Intern will work closely with an assigned Champion and Sponsor who will identify and supervise meaningful project assignments, provide ongoing guidance and feedback, and support professional and competency development throughout the internship.

This role provides hands on exposure to professional work in a mission driven organization, with opportunities to build skills in research, analysis, communication, and collaboration.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities



  • Gain an understanding of CCL's mission, brand, clients, products, and services
  • Support assigned projects through research, data collection, documentation, and analysis
  • Assist with project coordination, including tracking progress and collaborating with internal teams and departments
  • Provide technical, data entry, and administrative support to assigned CCL staff
  • Participate in designated, business focused projects by researching topics, proposing ideas and solutions, and delivering a final presentation at the conclusion of the internship
  • Assist in creating reports, presentations, and performance metrics


Education

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program
  • Rising junior or senior (3rd or 4th year completed)
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA


Experience/Work Background

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated attention to accuracy and quality in academic or work experiences


Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Customer focused mindset with a solution-oriented approach
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical thinking skills
  • Comfort learning new technology and systems (learning agility)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams)


Pay, Location & Program Details



  • Full time, paid summer internship
  • Hybrid (at least 2 days/week in the Greensboro Office)
  • Hourly rate: $20/hour
  • Duration: Summer internship only (10 weeks)
  • Housing and medical benefits are not provided
  • The two opportunities will either be in Sales or Human Resources.
