Position Description:

The Operations Project Manager collaborates and provides support to the Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships TechConnect Division. This role administers the logistical operations for TechConnect's Events and Special Programs. The TechConnect Division is seeking an energetic, hands-on professional to enhance the planning and execution of high-quality events in support of TechConnect programs. This role manages event logistics from start to finish and works closely with internal program teams, external vendors, and contractors. The ideal candidate is highly self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing large-scale trade shows and conferences with 1,000+ attendees. Experience with event management software, including eShow and/or Cvent, is highly desirable. This role is fully remote.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate with internal program teams, industry, government, project partners, and other stakeholders to ensure events run smoothly and meet organizational goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for eShow registration and exhibit modules, including form creation, updates, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Act as the primary registration contact for attendees and exhibitors, responding to inquiries, providing customer service, and issuing invoices, receipts, and reports. Manages onsite registration desk.
  • Respond to internal and external client emails, web inquiries, and phone calls.
  • Serve as the primary onsite contact during events; execute and manage all event-related contracts and logistics including Event move-in/move-out; food & beverage; temporary staffing; Audio/Visual; Exhibit services; Security; Internet services, etc.
  • Collaborate with internal program teams to assess and assign for event programs: session rooms, room sets, Audio/Visual, and F&B.
  • Provide regular updates and guidance throughout the event planning process to internal teams, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update program and project databases to ensure accurate data collection for future planning and lessons learned.
  • Assemble, edit, and proofread event-related web sites, documents and materials.
  • Perform administrative and coordination tasks including bulk email merges, phone outreach, correspondence preparation, and follow-ups with program participants and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required and 5 years relevant experience or Master's degree and two years relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of proven, directly related experience in event or operations management.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating large-scale events (500+ attendees), including exhibitions and convention center environments.
  • Strong organizational, project planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with technology, academic, industry, military and/or government communities preferred.
  • Experience with event management software, including eShow and Cvent, is highly desirable.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% (approximately 5 events per year).
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Physical requirements include walking, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, and prolonged sitting.
  • Must be either a U.S. Citizen by birth or naturalization.

Anticipated starting salary is in range commensurate with education and experience:
$75,000 - $78,000
