Role Summary

As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, Sales Engineering on the Upfit Team, you will be responsible to create
and provide technical service documentation and status for ongoing upfit projects, as well as
define new process for improved efficiency across departments. This position will motivate and
challenge you as a program manager to execute various projects driven by commercial
customers, fleet sales, and internal stakeholders. You will need to have solid program
management skills, strong technical capabilities, and the right attitude to collaborate with teams
across the organization. You will collaborate and maintain operational partnerships with Product
Development colleagues to evaluate and implement new solutions for Rivian's commercial
vehicle portfolio.


Responsibilities

  • Build and manage project KPIs, tracking progress, status and implementation of various ongoing projects.
  • Create technical service documentation as needed to support cross functional teams who will require understanding and access to any vehicle modifications.
  • Lead end to end business partner onboarding (Authorized and Preferred Upfit partners) - this will require integration with various Rivian systems and tools.
  • Maintain master data structure of the Service Orders for all ongoing projects with high level of accuracy to ensure projects are implemented against firm requirements.
  • Technical expertise and analysis of vehicle-level requirements in order to minimize customer opportunity dwell/evaluation time.
  • Process design ownership for existing process gaps within Rivian's Upfit Program alongside existing legacy processes.
  • Support monthly/quarterly business reviews to ensure latest and most impactful updates are shared with leadership and business partners. Providing exceptionally organized updates with clear status and actions.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, demand planning, engineering, operations and logistics, finance, and other partners to understand project requirement definition.
  • Lead first principles approach in cross-functional decision making to align with Rivian's core values, ensuring that the teams are prioritizing the right topics at the right time.
  • Develop best in class customer-facing operations while leveraging Rivian's platform and new technologies.
  • Seek out new innovations and present new strategies to continuously improve allareas of your work and the organization.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Automotive, Tier 1, OEM, or technical field.
  • Bachelors degree with emphasis in Industrial, Mechanical or related Business degree with Operations/Finance experience.
  • Knowledge of upfitting and general aftermarket product development is a plus.
  • Understanding of Service Center operations and continuous improvement.
  • CAD/Catia/Enovia/PLM experience.
  • Exceptional customer service, solution oriented mindset.
  • Experience with customer facing enterprise projects.
  • Experience creating Statements of Work (SOWs) or similar structured files for technical projects.
  • Excellent project management.
  • Strong collaborator, with willingness to drive change.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities to allow decision-making or presenting recommendations to the business.
  • Broad experience defining, launching, and driving strategic process redesign initiatives to improve internal and external processes and operations, working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a technology environment.
  • Process design experience, with proven ability to understand, document, and transform complex processes into actionable events.
  • Required to communicate using telephone and/or email.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Ability to view, read, and interpret documents
  • Ability to perform all duties in an office environment that may contain ambient noise and temperature fluctuations

Pay Disclosure

The salary range for this role is $121,500 to $151,900 for Southern California based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.

The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
