Lead Bridge Inspection Growth & Strategy Across Ohio with Fishbeck

Are you a seasoned bridge inspection professional with a passion for technical excellence, client engagement, and building highperforming teams? Fishbeck is seeking a Bridge Inspector Lead - Ohio to guide the expansion of our bridge inspection practice statewide and support cross-office collaboration in Michigan, Indiana, and Texas. In this senior-level role, you'll influence strategy, lead project execution, mentor staff, and strengthen relationships with key transportation clients.

What You'll Work On


Technical Leadership


  • Lead and build Fishbeck's Ohio bridge inspection practice, including recruiting in partnership with existing bridge team leaders.
  • Provide bridge inspection and engineering quality control, reviews, and standards development for the Transportation Division.
  • Assist with programmatic and large-scale pursuits for Transportation OH.
  • Mentor and guide technical staff across all Fishbeck offices.
  • Support growth of bridge engineering and inspection in MI, IN, and TX as needed.
  • Conduct client satisfaction reviews and participate in project evaluations.



Business Development


  • Collaborate with senior transportation leadership to develop long-term strategy for expanding bridge inspection practice. [


  • Build and maintain relationships with ODOT, counties, municipalities, and local agencies to position Fishbeck for upcoming opportunities.
  • Lead pursuits, develop proposals, and prepare fee estimates for inspection and engineering projects.
  • Identify cross-marketing opportunities with other internal departments.
  • From strategic alliances with national and regional firms to strengthen market position.
  • Provide guidance and insight for GO/NO-GO decisions on key pursuits.
  • Represent Fishbeck at industry events, conferences, and professional organization meetings.


Department Administration & Leadership


  • Contribute to the development of firmwide long-term business objectives and strategic plans.
  • Support hiring and recruiting efforts within the Transportation Division and across strategic roles.
  • Assist the Department Director with workload management, staffing needs, project financials, and division profitability.
  • Help execute Fishbeck's vision for the future, contributing to organization-wide initiatives and growth.



What We're Looking For


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of bridge inspection and/or bridge engineering experience.
  • Certified NBIS Team Leader strongly preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead inspection operations, mentor staff, and shape strategic direction.
  • Strong communication skills and experience engaging with DOTs, municipalities, and regional transportation agencies.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
