LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH & SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES, ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIVISION, DAVIDSON COUNTY Qualifications Education and Experience: Graduation from a standard high school and experience equivalent to eight years of qualifying professional-level experience in a mental health, substance abuse, special education or social services setting. OR Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to four years of full-time professional-level work in a mental health, substance abuse, special education or social services setting. Substitution of Graduate Education for Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree and experience equivalent to one year of full-time professional-level experience in a mental health, substance abuse, special education or social services setting. Necessary Special Qualifications: A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required for employment in this classification. Overview The MH Licensure Surveyor conducts surveys and investigations of mental health and substance use treatment facilities to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Reviews Licensure applications, inspects facilities, and provides technical assistance to providers to support regulatory adherence and service quality. Responsibilities 1. Conducts inspections, reviews reports, and assesses compliance with regulations. 2. Inspects physical environments, equipment, and safety measures for adherence to standards. 3. Advises providers on licensure requirements and corrective actions. 4. Recommends disciplinary actions for non-compliant facilities and operational improvements. 5. Prepares reports, maintains records, and documents findings from surveys and investigations. 6. Engages with providers, regulatory agencies, and community organizations to support licensure enforcement. 7. Collaborates with other agencies to conduct investigations and ensure regulatory alignment. 8. Provides training sessions to providers and stays updated on regulatory changes.
