Position Summary:

Performs the daily operations, including shipping, receiving, stocking, inventory management, loading customer orders, and maintaining warehouse and store conditions. Trains and assists in directing staff in the performance of their assigned duties and monitors flow of products through the assigned location.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures timely and accurate management of receiving inventory, merchandising products on the floor, order pulling, and delivery to customers.

  • Reviews inventory regularly to ensure counts match on hands as well as reconcile incoming deliveries and that deliveries are added to the system in a timely manner.

  • Picks customer orders using order sheets, maintains cold chain for cooler and frozen items, and ensures accuracy to reduce misspicks.

  • Reviews staff order picks to ensure accuracy.

  • Ensures all safety procedures are followed to avoid employee or customer injury.

  • Unloads and loads deliveries as well as operating equipment including but not limited to box cutter, compactor, hi-los, flat beds and pallet jacks, etc in accordance of OSHA guidelines.

  • Ensure each department is following basic product handling procedures and maintaining the cold chain.

  • Trains new employee.

  • Monitors self and staff to ensure proper lifting, loading, and use of equipment.

  • Assists in building and setting team schedule.

  • Appropriately responds to store emergencies, such as alarm calls and electrical outages, ensuring safe handling of store assets and minimizing loss.

  • Ensures general cleaning of the interior and exterior of the store, including loading areas, is maintained daily.

  • Promptly handles and informs management of low stock, spills, damaged equipment, and other maintenance needs.

  • Backfill for customer service, cashier, etc. as needed.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills to provide direction, customer service and speak publicly at store functions

  • Excellent customer service skills to include solving customer concerns and issues

  • Ability to perform tasks, prioritize, and work independently and within a team

  • Basic mathematical aptitude to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

  • Solve routine problems of moderate scope and complexity following established policies and procedures

  • Basic computer skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to follow instructions

  • Ability to coach and train others on process and procedure

  • Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.

Education & Minimum Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma required

  • Two years of retail, wholesale, or warehouse experience with progressively increasing responsibility preferred.

  • Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification must be obtained upon hire and maintained during employment

  • Valid Unrestricted Driver's License required

  • CPR or First Aid Certification preferred
