Job Purpose:
As a Senior Field Service Engineer at TD SYNNEX, you'll be the frontline expert supporting our customers' mission-critical devices and systems. You'll leverage your deep technical expertise to resolve complex hardware and software issues, collaborate with cross-functional IT teams, and mentor junior engineers. Your proactive approach will ensure optimal performance of end-user devices, network equipment, and warehouse technologies-delivering exceptional service within defined SLAs.
Key Responsibilities
- 2nd Level Incident & Service Request Support (50%)
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application and hardware issues on end-user devices (laptops, desktops, RDTs)
- Install/uninstall software, perform data recovery, and maintain system configurations
- Escalate complex incidents to specialized teams when needed, ensuring timely resolution
- Advanced Problem Resolution (20%)
- Lead root-cause analysis for recurring or high-impact incidents
- Develop and document workarounds, knowledge-base articles, and best practices
- Project Participation (10%)
- Act as local IT representative on technology rollouts, upgrades, and global initiatives
- Test hardware/software solutions, validate configurations, and provide feedback to project teams
- Asset & Inventory Management (10%)
- Maintain accurate records of hardware assets, peripherals, and spare parts
- Forecast demand, place purchase orders, and manage vendor relationships
- Supervisory Support (10%)
- Serve as backup to the IT supervisor or manager, coordinating daily operations as needed
- Provide on-the-job coaching and training to junior field service engineers
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- 5-8 years of field service or technical support experience, preferably in a fast-paced IT environment
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Certifications such as MCSE, SCCM, ITIL Foundation, or CCENT
- Proficient with Windows/Linux OS, common enterprise applications, and network fundamentals
- Strong troubleshooting skills for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and warehouse scanning devices
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences
- Detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining high quality and accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in multicultural teams
Preferred:
Experience with TD SYNNEX or similar distributor applications and processes Experience supporting Apple products Familiarity with cloud services, VoIP, or virtualization platforms Previous exposure to project management or process improvement initiatives
