LMI is seeking a Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Policy Analyst at our client site at Scott AFB, IL. Successful LMI WPS Policy Analyst demonstrates competency in understanding strategic guidance, implementing policy, and integrating initiatives. This position cannot be worked remotely.

Responsibilities

    Support, inform, and provide timely advice to the USTRANSCOM Command Group and Staff. Coordinate and collaborate with the Joint Staff, OSD, Service Components, and the USG interagency on WPS/Human Security guidance, policy, and activities. Integrate WPS initiatives within USTRANSCOM, whether implemented within or through the headquarters or its subordinate commands.
  • Apply political-military and logistics expertise to understand country and regional context and environment relevant to the implementation of WPS, with a USTRANSCOM perspective, into Campaign and Exercise Plans, as applicable.
  • Provide recommendations for the planning of gender activities, training, integrating knowledge and process management to support all-source operational and mission planning for ongoing, emergent, contingency, and crisis operations.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement a WPS strategy and policy for WPS initiatives, Human Security advising activities, capability implementation support and training, and prevention of sexual and gender-based violence.
  • Recommend collaborative WPS planning efforts with OSD, JS, DoS, Intelligence Community, CCMDs, Components, Military Services and Interagency, and avenues for de-conflicting and synchronization of activities, focusing on transportation and logistics issues.
  • Provide recommended WPS training modules for USTRANSCOM and subordinate command staff, and integration of gender mainstreaming initiatives within USTRANSCOM activities and with partner nations, to include operations, exercises, training, and engagements.
  • Coordinate and execute an annual Operational WPS course at USTRANSCOM and establish a network of trained Human Security Focal Points within the Headquarters and subordinate commands and act as support, coach and reach back for component Human Security Focal Points.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, studies in human relations and/or sociology preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of the U.S. Government (USG) laws and policies regarding Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) and UNSCR 1325, Security Assistance (SA) and Security Cooperation (SC) programs.
  • Understanding of military operations, exercises, training, and engagements and how they may relate to WPS, and Human Security guidance, policy, and activities.
  • This position supports USTRANSCOM's global mission and its role as the leader of the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise. Thorough understanding of USTRANSCOM missions and objectives is preferred.
  • Must possess at minimum Secret level clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Target salary range: $98,000-$115,000
