Position Overview

Join us in our fast-paced support to the Space Development Agency (SDA). Recognized as the Department of Defense's constructive disruptor for space acquisition, SDA delivers space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. SDA capitalizes on a unique business model that values speed and lowers costs by harnessing commercial development to achieve a proliferated architecture and enhance resilience. We are seeking a Technical Advisory to support SDA's mission. Responsibilities include:



Responsibilities

    Coordinate with subject matter experts and SDA leadership to support integration of technical info into SDA's communication products
  • Coordinate within SDA on technical matters, helping to "translate" complex technical concepts into plain language
  • Develop and maintain external facing products (briefings, emails, factsheets, etc) with high standard and attention to detail
  • Maintain understanding of technical and communication trends, both external and internal to SDA, and how they may apply to the agency's messaging objectives
  • Support SDA international engagements with technical input and products (briefings, written Q&A, diagrams, etc), coordinated across the agency for appropriate release
  • Conduct information gathering and remain cognizant of internal developments to ensure timely and accurate information sharing
  • Facilitate public release process, including security review for clearance of technical info/products before public release
  • Incorporate feedback and input on product strategy and identify the best path to improve efficiencies
  • Collaborate with Strategic Engagement Director to develop communication plans that support clear transmission of complex technical concepts and acquisition activities


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or relevant technical discipline and 5+ years of related work experience
  • Prior experience supporting space system development or the Department of War
  • Prior experience preparing highly technical information for public presentation through web, social media, or visual products
  • Hands on proficiency using MS Office Suite for Outgoing Product Development (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Sharepoint) presentation development tools, principally PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills
  • Creative thinking skills
  • TS/SCI Eligibility; #clearedjob


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or relevant technical discipline
  • Prior experience expressing technical (STEM) concepts in plain language to non-technical audiences
