Position Summary:
This positionis responsible forall activities that occur within the manufacturing facilityin support of thePlant Manager/Director of Operations.The Senior Operations Managerprovides leadershipfor,anddevelopsabilitiesof the management team toachieveconsistentproduction ofhigh qualityproducts and deliver financial profitability for the bakery.
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee manufacturing operations for a commercialbaking facility consisting ofhourlyassociates andmanagement staff.
  • Lead the achievement of azero injuryworkplace.Insurecompliance with FDA, EPA, OSHA, and HACCP regulation
  • Build a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and professionalism,demonstratingactive support of the Company's values and policies.
  • Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan.
  • Maintains records for all phones of productionrelativeto the quality of the product, including bakery formulation records, and those records necessary for auditing purposes to include order completion and scheduling of holiday production.
Key Behavioral Competencies:
  • Knowledge of the operations of all bakery departments: production, quality, food safety, maintenance, and materials management.
  • Demonstratedtrack recordof leading the improvement of operations while deliveringday to dayperformance.
  • Ability to analyze data using various operating systems and programs.
  • Demonstrated experience building a strong leadership team.
  • Ability to work closely in a team-based environment with associates at all levels in the organization.
  • Knowledge of safety related issues including compliance with State,Federaland Local regulations.
  • Labor relations experience.
Education and Work History:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Food Science, or a technicalfielda plus.A combination of education,trainingand experience that results indemonstratedcompetency to perform the work may be substituted.
  • 10+ years of increasingly responsible manufacturing experience, at least 5 years which must be in the food industry.
  • 4+ years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Strong business acumen and working knowledge of process control and improvement tools.
  • Participative management style and excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills includingproficiencywith Microsoft Office.
