Executive Service STATE MEAT PROGRAM INSPECTION DIRECTOR Department of Agriculture Animal Health Program Nashville, TN Annual Salary: $89,496.00 to $116,364.00 Closing Date: 03/16/2026Who we are and what we do: TDA Animal Health works to protect Tennessee's livestock industry and keep animals healthy. We partner with veterinarians, producers, animal owners, and state and federal agencies to help prevent and control animal diseases. Our team monitors animal health, supports disease prevention programs, and enforces rules for moving animals within and into the state. This work helps protect animals, animal owners, and Tennessee agriculture. How you make a difference in this role: As the Tennessee Meat Inspection Program Director, you will play a key role in building and leading Tennessee's new meat inspection program. This position directly supports producers by helping ensure meat products are inspected and safe for consumers. You will work both in the field and in the office, collaborating with producers and partners to pilot, implement, and oversee the program. Through your leadership, Tennessee will strengthen its food safety efforts and support a safe, reliable meat supply. Key Responsibilities:
