LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF DISABILITY AND AGING (DDA), ADMINISTRATION DIVISION, MADISON COUNTY Qualifications Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in special education, education, rehabilitation or therapeutic health, nursing, sociology, social work, or any behavioral science field and experience equivalent to two years of working with persons with disabilities, aging, and/or mental health work. Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate coursework in special education, rehabilitation or therapeutic health, nursing, sociology, social work, or any behavioral science field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying professional intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, aging, or mental health work may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. OR Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to three years of working with persons with disabilities, aging, and/or mental health work. OR Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and completion of an internship with the Department of Disability and Aging. Necessary Special Qualifications: Experience can substitute for degree. Overview The Department of Disability and Aging (DDA) is seeking a Program Specialist 3 to work with the Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) Unit in the Quality Management Division. The candidate would work to assess quality of services and compliance with federal regulations for private ICF homes in the East Region. This highly motivated individual will require a combination of strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with staff in the private agencies and explain regulatory processes. Surveyors are required to travel within their assigned region, to include driving to/from provider agencies, as well as occasional travel across the state to assist other members of the team. A flex schedule is utilized for the team, which will occasionally require longer workdays in which the time worked beyond the standard workday is flexed out later in the week.
