Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Plate Mounter for our plant in Grand Prairie, TX. The Plate Mounter is responsible for accurately mounting flexographic plates on cylinders/sleeves for printing operations, ensuring quality standards are met while maintaining efficiency and safety. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting overall production goals. This position reports to the Prepress Supervisor/Manager. This will be a 3rd shift position (11pm- 7am, Sun - Thu).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mount, repair, and adjust flexographic printing plates onto cylinders and sleeves with precision

  • Inspect plates for defects, damage, and quality issues before and after mounting

  • Clean, strip, and process plate components following established procedures

  • Manage plate inventory, storage, and organization systems

  • Monitor and adhere to daily mounting schedules and production timelines

  • Verify job specifications, measurements, and documentation accuracy

  • Maintain work area cleanliness and safety standards at all times

  • Input accurate data and job information into PRISM system

  • Troubleshoot mounting issues and implement corrective solutions

  • Provide support to press department operations and requirements

  • Follow DTM cleaning procedures and 5S Schedule consistently

  • Other Duties as defined

Education & Experience:

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Required Skills:

  • Basic math skills

  • Ability to read and interpret job specifications

  • Experience with precision measuring instruments

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Computer proficiency (PRISM, Excel, Access)

  • Attention to detail

  • Problem-solving abilities

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Must pass pre-employment assessment

  • Drug screening required

Physical Demands: The associate will primarily work in a office environment with some exposure to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to:

  • Standing for extended periods

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds

  • Bending, reaching, and stretching

  • Fine motor skills for detailed work

  • Visual acuity for quality inspection

  • Manual dexterity

  • Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)

Work Conditions: The majority of tasks will be performed in a office type setting with some need to go into the manufacturing setting with exposure to:

  • Climate-controlled workspace

  • Exposure to typical manufacturing environment

  • Noise levels above 85 dB

  • Operation of complex machinery

  • Exposure to chemicals and adhesives

  • May require nights, weekends, holidays or overtime

  • An additional $2.50/hr premium for NIGHT Shift only between the hours of 7pm-7am. Any hours worked outside of 7pm-7am will not receive the premium.

Additional Internal Requirements:

  • Must demonstrate Core Values

  • Must be in good standing with no disciplinary action or attendance issues(Associates in Written or higher stage of counseling are not eligible to apply)

  • Must have performer or higher rating in last review
