Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in Virginia Beach, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. You will drive between assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and strong customer service. This post requires an armed guard card/license and a valid driver's license, while working with a team that acts with integrity, agility, and care.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify identification and/or authorization as required, and report unauthorized activity according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting law enforcement and/or medical assistance as needed and consistent with site protocols.
  • Complete timely written reports and logs, document unusual activity, and follow all Allied Universal and site requirements for firearms handling, storage, and use of force.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
