Summary: The Registered Dietitian provides comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy aligned with each patient's individualized medical goals. Responsibilities include conducting nutrition assessments, formulating nutrition diagnoses, developing and implementing evidencebased nutrition interventions, delivering patient and family education, and monitoring and evaluating progress to support optimal outcomes. This role serves a diverse patient population, which may include neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. The Dietitian practices using prescriptive authority as granted by the medical staff.

Responsibilities:
Delivers EvidenceBased Medical Nutrition Therapy: Provides medical nutrition therapy in alignment with national and international evidencebased practices, as well as departmental policies, guidelines, and procedures. Conducts Comprehensive Assessments: Performs nutritionfocused physical exams to assess patient status and determine appropriate nutrition interventions and treatment plans. Provides Individualized Nutrition Counseling: Offers tailored nutrition counseling based on patient-specific needs. Assesses patient and family understanding, learning readiness, and potential barriers using effective interviewing and education techniques. Educates Clinical and Food Service Teams: Addresses the educational needs of food service staff, medical providers, and other professional team members regarding dietary requirements, nutrition principles, and best practices. Supports Training and Professional Development: Participates in orientation activities and serves as a preceptor/trainer for dietetic students, interns, and newly hired dietitians. Other Duties as Assigned: Performs additional functions as needed to support departmental operations and patient care.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required Licensed Dietitian-NM Reg & License-LD-NM RL Registered Dietitian-RD Privileging through medical staff required by the end of nine-month orientation period.
