If you're energized by making datadriven decisions, shaping strategy, and presenting meaningful insights to leaders - we'd love to meet you.

Job Description:

The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst plays a strategic role at the intersection of advanced analytics and business decision-making. This position is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and interpreting complex datasets to drive pricing strategy, margin optimization, and customer-focused decision-making. Unlike traditional analyst roles focused heavily on dashboard production, this position requires strong business acumen, independent decision-making, and the ability to bring structured, data-backed opinions to stakeholders and leaders.

This team owns the Guidance Model for pricing and margins. The Sr. Analyst will make intuitive, informed decisions and manipulate guidance measures based on customer insights, market understanding, and statistical reasoning. The ideal candidate brings a consultative mindset and takes ownership of determining what analyses are needed, driving next steps, and presenting clear recommendations that influence strategic outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits:

As part of McKesson's commitment to pay transparency, this role offers a $120,000 base salary plus a 15% annual incentive ($18,000), for a total target cash of $138,000. The role is also eligible for Long-Term Incentive (LTI) awards. Benefits include 16 days PTO, 11 paid holidays, full health benefits, companymatched 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and Health & Wellness programs that help reduce healthcare premium costs.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Analytics & Insight Development

  • Perform advanced analysis, trend identification, and scenario modeling to support pricing, margin, and profitability strategies.

  • Manipulate and refine pricing guidance measures based on customer behavior, market conditions, and statistical interpretation.

  • Lead the analytical process end-to-end by defining data needs, executing analysis, interpreting results, and recommending actionable next steps.

  • Build clear and effective visualizations and reports using data visualization tools to support storytelling and decision-making (but not as the primary focus of the role).

Business Decision Support

  • Provide structured, data-backed opinions to leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Act as a strategic partner who proactively identifies opportunities, recommends actions, and influences business direction.

  • Contribute to pricing strategy, customer segmentation insights, margin optimization, and forecasting activities.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with internal partners across Pricing, Finance, Sales, Operations, and external collaborators to gather requirements and deliver insights.

  • Communicate complex insights in a clear, business-friendly manner tailored to non-technical audiences.

  • Regularly present findings to leadership and guide discussions around recommended actions and strategic implications.

Data Quality, Ownership & Governance

  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with internal standards.

  • Maintain analysis documentation, data definitions, and procedural guidance.

  • Take full ownership of analytical models, outputs, and the accuracy of insights provided to the business.

Minimum Qualification:
  • 7+ years of relevant experience

Critical Skills:
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to make strategic, intuitive decisions grounded in data.

  • Proven ability to form structured, informed opinions and confidently present recommendations to leaders.

  • Mastery of SQL and experience with at least one analytics language (Python or R).

  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts and how to apply them to realworld business challenges.

  • Experience with data visualization tools and the ability to present insights in a compelling, easy-to-understand format.

  • Strong understanding of data extraction methodologies and experience working with relational and dimensional databases.

  • Exceptional analytical and data modeling skills, with the ability to diagnose issues, identify opportunities, and propose solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into business-oriented insights.

  • Ability to drive analysis independently, determine what's needed, and lead next steps without direction.

  • Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and complex data manipulation).

Hybrid Work Expectations:

This role follows a hybrid work model:

  • The team works from the office once per month.

  • Additional inoffice days may be required for larger meetings, strategic sessions, or department-wide events.

Working Conditions:
  • Traditional home office or company office environment.

  • Significant time spent performing computer-based work.
