GENERAL FUNCTION

The Account Specialist manages relationships with an assigned group of clients (including employers, brokers, and consultants) in the small and mid-market business segment. This role involves consulting on vision benefit portfolios, resolving issues, and managing the renewal process. A strong customer focus is required to ensure client satisfaction and retention. The Account Specialist will work with small and mid-market clients with an average book of business ranging from 10 to 1,000 members.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Ensure client satisfaction and retention of assigned accounts
  • Manage relationships with current clients and deliver outstanding customer service
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on vision products in the insurance industry
  • Provide annual business reviews to major clients and brokers
  • Deliver accurate and timely renewal proposals
  • Partner with EyeMed Sales and Marketing teams to drive messaging to key clients and brokers
  • Respond to inquiries and issues with urgency
  • Communicate daily by phone with external stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners
  • Maintain or obtain required licensing
  • Collaborate with clients to offer optimal vision benefit products
  • Finalize and implement negotiated plan designs and renewals


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years in a service-oriented role with proven success
  • Accident & Health Insurance License or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong phone presence
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong customer focus and ability to anticipate client needs


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Experience and knowledge of vision benefits and/or insurance industry
  • Sales or account management experience
  • Experience using Salesforce.com or similar CRM system
