As a Coatings Inspector, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of various construction projects and will be responsible for observing, documenting, and verifying surface preparation and coating applications on materials such as concrete, steel, and cast iron. What You Will Do:

  • Surface Preparation Monitoring: Ensure proper surface preparation of materials such as concrete, steel, and cast iron, and verify that coating applications meet specified standards.
  • Vehicle Operation: Operate a vehicle to reach different job sites, including confined spaces like underground piping and elevated structures such as water towers.
  • Climbing and Equipment Handling: Climb ladders, scaffolding, and other structures, carrying up to 50 lbs. of equipment for observation and testing purposes.
  • Safety Compliance: Use full body harnesses for fall protection and wear a mask respirator when working around blasting and coating applications.

This position involves frequent travel, often for extended periods, outside of the Greensboro area.

What You Bring:

  • A High School diploma/GED
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in surface preparation and industrial coating application
  • AMPP (formerly NACE) Level I or Level II CIP Certification
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in the English language

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment, such as:

  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions outside normal business hours, as needed
  • Walking over rough and uneven terrain, maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow
  • Working in confined spaces, working at heights up to 200ft, and climbing structure-mounted ladders and scaffolding
