What to Expect

We are seeking a dependable, self-motivating, and results oriented parts coordinator that will be responsible for procuring and managing all parts and materials needed by the engineering teams to perform development and validation activities for the Occupant Safety & Restraints team. In addition to the parts coordination activities, you will assist Safety and Restraint Program Managers to track parts for testing status, including confirming with cross functional teams the right pedigree for validation activities.


What You'll Do
  • Gather all material requirements from Safety & Restraints Engineering Teams and ensure parts are delivered on time to testing sites (Tesla or Supplier locations)
  • Part Procurement (Purchase Orders - Internal & External)
  • Manage receiving, stocking, and organizing (pedigree & defunct/out of date) of parts in the warehouse(s)
  • Ensure adherence to confidentiality protocols and policies
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency
  • Establish an inventory management system using MS Office
  • Support on open workstreams for sustaining programs such as parts for factory trials
  • Drive cross functional team discussions when needed to ensure action plans are on track
  • Engage with cross functional teams to confirm the correct part pedigree before procurement (i.e. Interior and exterior components)

What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years of relevant experience as inventory and / or project coordinator
  • Experience in an engineering or automotive environment, preferred familiarity with safety & restraints, and general cabin systems (seatbelts, airbags, seats, Instrument panel, console, etc.)
  • A "can do" attitude. Ability to work out ways around obstacles, see opportunities while facing difficulties and restrictive timing
  • Excellent interpersonal communication
  • Well organized with attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office and ease of learning new software tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)

    Expected Compensation
    $18.40 - $48.00/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
