Fabrication Technician

Hours & Pay

$25.00 per hour

Overtime as needed

Responsibilities:

• The Fabrication Technician works independently or with a team creating accurate, working prototype vehicles.
• Candidates will be assigned to Weld Group, Assembly Group, or Paint Group depending upon experience of the candidate and business need.

Successful Candidates will have:

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Good attendance and ability to be at work on-time
• Strong attention to detail and quality minded
• Ability to retain information for daily responsibilities
• Ability to use various hand tools and power tools
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Communicate effectively
• Maintain a clean and organized workplace
• Ability to repetitively get in and out of vehicles and occasionally lift 50 lbs
• Understanding of the Metric System and basic math skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and the ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Automotive factory experience or previous automotive dealership experience.
• OEM experience is preferred.
• ASE certifications.
• Experience operating shop equipment such as A/C, coolant, and vehicle alignment machines.
• Tech School /Trade or Vocational school
• General measurement proficiency including use of micrometers, calipers, bore, tip and height gages
• Engine, transmission, and Hybrid vehicle experience.
• 3D CAD/CATIA experience.
• Welding experience with MIG, TIG, or Resistance welding.
• Automotive paint and bodywork experience
