Job Description




As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver Route in Carleton, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech, media, and telecom location as an unarmed patrol officer. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible, monitor access points, and document security-related activity while delivering strong customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a tech and/or media office or campus location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, alarms, access issues, and workplace concerns, and escalate to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, perimeter lines, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and conduct access control tasks such as verifying identification, managing visitor entry, issuing temporary badges, and documenting deliveries and service calls in accordance with site requirements.
  • Complete timely patrol and incident documentation, perform routine checks of doors, gates, lighting, and security-related equipment, and communicate updates to Allied Universal supervision and/or client representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
