POSITION TITLE: Finance Support Clerk

DEPARTMENT: Finance

SUPERVISOR: Divisional Finance Director

FLSA STATUS: Full-Time/ 40 hours per week; Non-Exempt. $20-$23 DOE

SCOPE OF POSITION: The Finance Support Clerk provides administrative, transactional, and coordination support to the Finance Department. The position supports accounts payable and receivable processes, assistance programs, deposits, documentation management, and internal communications. This role focuses on accurate processing, documentation compliance, tracking, and coordination.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred.

* Three (3) years of experience in a finance, accounting support, or administrative role. Experience in nonprofit, grant, or fund accounting preferred.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

* Strong organizational skills.

* Attention to detail.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality.

* General knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work professionally and harmoniously with others.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Monitor and manage Divisional Finance and AP email inboxes

* Receive, scan, track, and route invoices and supporting documentation through AP Workflow

* Assign or verify general ledger coding for designated routine invoices

* Review assistance vouchers for completeness and funder compliance

* Prepare deposit slips, batch headers, and supporting documentation for cash and electronic payment received at the Divisional Headquarters

* Deposit cash payments received at the Divisional Headquarters

* Review assigned corporate credit card transactions for policy compliance

* Process approved corporate credit card applications and limit changes

* Manage Divisional Headquarters petty cash and gift card disbursements and prepare reconciliations

* Maintain organized finance records in accordance with retention policies

* Prepare documentation and administrative support for Command Finance Council meetings

* Assist with reports, presentations, and special projects as assigned

ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a heated and ventilated office setting. Noise level is low. Exposure to extreme weather environments is not a condition of this workplace setting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent basis; grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate proficiently all general office equipment and to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written and verbal information. Ability to work in a deadline-driven business environment, and to work additional hours occasionally in the evenings or weekends, if needed. Ability to operate a motor vehicle during daylight, darkness, or during periods of inclement weather. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. PROTECT THE MISSION

Must complete the online course for this area and pass the background check process required by The Salvation Army for employment.

DRIVER REQUIREMENTS

Must be a licensed driver. Must also complete and pass The Salvation Army Driver Safety Course.
