RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for the CRSC located in Millstone Twp, at Monmouth Medical Center.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • Licensed as Registered Nurse three to five years with one to three years experience in Mental Health field
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • BLS
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
  • NJ Driver's License

Preferred:

  • BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
  • National Certification preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full Time

Essential Functions:

  • Provides psychiatric and medical services for adult clients within a psychosocial milieu,
  • Assists the psychiatrist with medication clinic,
  • Administers medication orally and parenterally,
  • Schedules and documents physical exams and lab tests,
  • Performs AIMES Screenings, nursing assessments, intakes, consults and maintains a case load and all pertinent clinical documentation,
  • Facilitates groups
  • Participates in department QA/QI
  • Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments, ie, damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas, and medical errors,
  • Is responsible for knowledge of the patient population served and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics,
  • The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available,
  • Administer medication for patients in accordance with all nursing standards,
  • Provide medication education to patients and their families,
  • Assist the psychiatrist in medication clinics through ongoing preparation, follow-up on medication related issues, review of lab reports and follow-up of any abnormal results, information provided to treatment team concerning all relevant clinical data,
  • Assists in patient billing through accurate record keeping of client s attendance in groups and activities daily, and medication clinic services,
  • Coordinate medical and nursing care for program clients,
  • Obtain medical history client entering psychosocial rehabilitation program through client interviews, documentation, and contacts with health care providers,
  • Complete nursing assessments and problem list,
  • Demonstrate active participation in performance improvement projects through team involvement,
  • Complete data collection, analysis and recommendations for improvements,
  • Develop and facilitate group work concerning medication and general health education,
  • Integrates psychosocial, physical, nutritional and rehabilitation needs of the patient in patient care and discharge planning which evidence cultural awareness,
  • Maintains the standards of nursing care which are evidence based and outcome driven and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and Nursing Department, and are based on ethical principles which adhere to the ANA code of Ethics,
  • Participate in multidisciplinary staff meetings,
  • Present treatment recommendations and progress reports,
  • Assist other program staff with the interpretation of medical information and the physician s orders,
  • Provide all necessary nursing services and supportive counseling to mental health consumers on an ongoing basis,
  • Schedule physical exams for patients and follow through with all necessary medical care,
  • Update the patient s medical record and complete all documentation of each patients progress, addressing current individual treatment plan goals, program attendance, and other information to describe the course and response to treatment,
